We are looking for a Head of Credit Control to join our team.
As Head of Department – Credit Control , you will play a key leadership role in protecting the financial health of the Faircape Group by ensuring timely and professional recovery of outstanding monies.
This hands-on role involves managing the Credit Control team, overseeing the debtor’s ledger, and driving effective collection strategies across multiple entities. You will reduce overdue debt, maintain strong cash flow, and implement proactive credit control measures.
Working closely with senior management, legal, and finance, you will help mitigate risk and manage escalations. The ideal candidate is assertive, analytical, and results-driven with proven leadership and team management experience.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring high levels of performance, motivation, and accountability.
- Develop and implement credit control strategies and collection policies aligned with company objectives.
- Implement and refine credit risk management policies and procedures.
- Ensure accurate maintenance of customer accounts and timely resolution of queries.
- Monitor age analysis and ensure reduction in outstanding debt.
- Provide regular reporting on debtor performance, bad debt, and cash collection forecasts.
- Overseeing the handover of accounts to attorneys and managing of the legal collection process
- Work closely with the finance team to ensure proper allocation and reconciliation of receipts and deposits.
- Ensure adherence to statutory requirements and internal control procedures.
- Drive continuous improvement and automation within credit and billing processes.
Education and Qualifications
- Qualification in Credit Management NQFL 6 or similar advantageous
Experience Required
- Proven experience in a similar role
- Experience managing teams and driving performance in a finance environment
- Sound accounting knowledge and practical understanding of financial systems

Normal working hours are Mondays to Fridays from 08h00 until 17h00 with a 45 minute lunch break. The company allows employees, by approval of the direct manager, to work flexi time between 06h30 and 18h30.
