Project & Engineering Department Manager

Key Responsibilities:

• Projects Leadership:
• Manage full project lifecycles, from scope definition through to post-project reviews.

Ensure delivery within schedule, budget, scope, and safety parameters. Lead monthly reviews and liaise with finance for robust budget control. Optimize resource planning, oversee third-party vendors, and monitor performance metrics. Champion safety culture and compliance with all HSE standards across client sites. Engineering Oversight: Drive priorities, manage workflow, and ensure that engineering outputs meet company and ISO standards. Final sign-off on drawings, scopes, quality control plans, and NCR investigations. People & Performance: Lead and mentor both departments with goal-setting, reviews, training, and talent development. Coordinate site access for staff and subcontractors. Strategy & Growth: Collaborate on technical audits and support the marketing of products and services.
Job Experience & Skills Required:
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering (required) Registration with ECSA (Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng preferred) PMP certification highly desirable 510+ years of project and engineering management experience Strong grasp of budgeting, compliance, and risk management Bonus points for experience in aluminium smelters or similar environments
