Job Overview
The IT Asset Clerk is responsible for ensuring that Huntswood's IT resources are accounted for, properly utilized and optimised. The role revolves around the efficient management of all IT assets by tracking, maintaining and ensuring compliance of these assets throughout their lifecycle from acquisition to disposal.
Job Responsibilities
- Maintain and update the asset register with complete and accurate information
- Record asset acquisitions, transfers, and disposals in accordance with company policies
- Conduct regular physical verification of assets and reconcile discrepancies with asset records
- Assist with inventory counts, audits, and asset tracking using asset management systems
- Monitor asset usage and condition, reporting any irregularities or damages
- Prepare and manage asset-related documentation, including transfer and disposal forms
- Ensure adherence to internal control procedures and relevant financial regulations
Job Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in asset management, stock control, logistics or warehousing
- Experience in IT asset management is highly advantageous
- Matric or equivalent
- Tertiary qualification in IT, procurement, logistics or similar advantageous
- A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable personal vehicle are essential, as the role requires travel between company sites
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
