Description:
- Ensure that adequate safety, health and environmental hazards are identified and reported.
- Provide resources to your subordinates to eliminate hazards and improve health and safety.
- Incorporate safety, health, environment issues in your daily communication with your employees.
- Assist in any investigation of incidents which have occurred in your work area or by one of your sub ordinates, to avoid recurrence.
- Ensure hazards and risks are identified for all plant and major equipment.
- Focus on the elimination of unsafe acts and rectify unsafe conditions.
· Set production targets for each area of responsibility daily and Communicate production targets to employees.
- Ensure that resources are available to meet production requirements.
- Monitor actual output to targets regularly during the shift.
- Assist employees with any hindrances which are preventing them from achieving targets.
- Report on progress to target to your manager.
- Complete production reports and graphs at the end of each shift.
- Attend daily meetings with manager and colleagues to discuss production requirements
- Ensure required number of employees are scheduled for each shift and Check that employees report for shift and assist in acquiring suitable replacements where required.
- Identify training needs to ensure improving skills of employees.
- Initiate disciplinary action of employees where necessary.

- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a supervisory/foreman position.
- Previous mining pit experience.
