Description:

      • Ensure that adequate safety, health and environmental hazards are identified and reported.
      • Provide resources to your subordinates to eliminate hazards and improve health and safety.
      • Incorporate safety, health, environment issues in your daily communication with your employees.
      • Assist in any investigation of incidents which have occurred in your work area or by one of your sub ordinates, to avoid recurrence.
      • Ensure hazards and risks are identified for all plant and major equipment.
      • Focus on the elimination of unsafe acts and rectify unsafe conditions.

· Set production targets for each area of responsibility daily and Communicate production targets to employees.

  • Ensure that resources are available to meet production requirements.
  • Monitor actual output to targets regularly during the shift.
  • Assist employees with any hindrances which are preventing them from achieving targets.
  • Report on progress to target to your manager.
  • Complete production reports and graphs at the end of each shift.
  • Attend daily meetings with manager and colleagues to discuss production requirements
  • Ensure required number of employees are scheduled for each shift and Check that employees report for shift and assist in acquiring suitable replacements where required.
  • Identify training needs to ensure improving skills of employees.
  • Initiate disciplinary action of employees where necessary.
  • Ensure employee morale remains high and address any issues raised by employees expediently.

      • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a supervisory/foreman position.
