Description:

To provide strategic oversight and direction of the Finance department to deliver longer term organisational objectives in line with regulatory and legal parameters. The incumbent is primarily accountable for the preparation and implementation of the organisation’s financial strategy, reporting, policies, and financial controls framework to ensure the achievement of institution wide financial objectives, controls, and stability.

Minimum Qualifications

  • CA(SA)
  • SAICA accredited

Minimum Experience

  • Demonstrable experience in corporate and financial strategy and management
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in Finance
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years in a senior management position in Finance

DELIVERABLES

  • Develop, plan and oversee the execution of the integrated financial strategy to minimise financial risk
  • Lead the design and assessment of financial strategy and performance against the annual budget and long-term goals to foster organisational stability
  • Oversee the timely and accurate development of budgets, financial reports and models that will assist the CEO, Board, and other senior managers in making informed functional resource allocation and investment decisions.
  • Oversee and manage the investment pipeline
  • Strategically engage with auditors and provide oversight over the Audit process
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external audit requirements
  • Lead strategic direction setting and align strategic plans for Finance sub-departments to the company’s vision, mission, and values
  • Establish a functional performance management framework (annual department operational plan, roles, and responsibilities) to enable annual goal tracking
  • Define and manage performance outcomes of the Finance team
  • Provide strategic input in management meetings across the business, actively contributing to financial planning, management, and measurement
  • Establish and maintain strategic relationships across multiple functional areas to enable collaboration, knowledge sharing and optimisation of the business value chain
  • Develop management systems and processes that instil value-based behaviour that supports diversity and creates an inclusive work environment.
  • Develop and implement business metrics to ensure performance is measured against financial goals set for each the business functions
  • Establish budget allocation criteria to support financial performance of the business
  • Monitor, measure and report on progress of delivery against baseline business plan
  • Lead and manage the reporting processes to provide an integrated view and reporting on relevant business information
  • Manage audit processes, business intelligence and other information to manage and mitigate risks identified
