Installation Electrician
Minimum Requirements
- Qualified Installation Electrician (with trade certificate) .
- Wireman’s License.
- Minimum of 3 years’ post-trade experience in construction, plant, or industrial environments.
- Sound knowledge of SANS electrical codes and regulations.
- Capable of working independently and issuing CoCs.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Strong safety orientation and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and maintain electrical wiring, distribution boards, plug points and lighting systems in compliance with SANS regulations.
- Fault-find and repair fixed electrical systems at workshops, depots and site accommodation units.
- Conduct planned preventative maintenance and inspections of electrical installations.
- Perform electrical upgrades and ensure safe integration with generators, backup systems and temporary site setups.
- Supervise assistants or apprentices, ensuring quality of work and safety adherence.
- Monitor and report on electrical faults, maintenance needs and material requirements.
- Comply with all company and legislative SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) requirements.
- Registered with DOL as an Electrical Contractor.
