Minimum Requirements:
- Qualified Diesel Mechanic (with trade certificate).
- Minimum 3 years’ experience post-qualification.
- Prior hands-on experience working on UD trucks is essential.
- Sound knowledge of construction equipment and workshop procedures.
- Strong commitment to safety and operational efficiency.
- Valid driver’s license.
Main Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostics, servicing and repairs specifically on UD trucks as part of the fleet.
- Perform mechanical repairs and overhauls on construction and earth-moving equipment.
- Diagnose faults and conduct machine and component testing.
- Service equipment and conduct oil sampling.
- Complete job cards, time sheets, and requisitions for parts.
- Conduct minor welding and ensure roadworthiness of trucks and machines.
- Attend to breakdowns and perform site repairs as needed.
- Promote and enforce safe working practices and use of protective equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Supervise and mentor assistants and learners.
