Receptionist / Legal Secretary

Our client is looking for a dynamic, well-organized Receptionist / Legal Secretary with at least 5 years of experience in a law firm office.

💰 Salary : R10 000 – R20 000 (depending on experience)
📍 Location : Brooklyn
📅 Available Position : 1
👉 Start Date : As soon as possible
🕒 Working Hours : Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00

Responsibilities :
• Professional welcome of clients and visitors
• Answering and redirecting phone calls
• Handling general inquiries via phone and email
• Typing and preparing legal documents such as pleadings, affidavits, notices, and letters
• Managing litigation files (especially in general civil litigation)
• Filing court documents and following up with the sheriff
• Experience in taxation and cost accounting
• Coordinating the law practice’s calendar, meetings, and court dates
• Drafting and execution of warrants will be highly advantageous
• Ordering office supplies
• Handling courier arrangements and deliveries
• General support to attorneys and candidate attorneys
• Managing and filing physical and digital files
• Coordinating court dates, meetings, and schedules
• Communication and follow-up with courts, clerks, and clients
• General office administration and courier arrangements
• Drafting cost accounts and, where necessary, tax accounts
• Maintaining confidentiality and professional discretion
• Effective task prioritization
• Ability to work in a small firm environment with high-volume work and high-profile cases
• Ability to function independently and self-sufficiently without constant supervision
• Handling strict deadlines and fluctuating priorities in a dynamic legal environment

Job Requirements :
• Matric certificate
• Driver’s license and vehicle
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a legal secretary or receptionist in a legal environment
• Strong computer skills (MS Office; experience with GhostPractice is a plus )

• Professionele verwelkoming van kliënte en besoekers
• Beantwoord en deurskakel van oproepe
• Hantering van algemene navrae per telefoon en e-pos
• Tik en opstel van regsdokumente soos pleitstukke, verklarings, kennisgewings en briewe
• Hantering van litigasie-lêers (veral in algemene siviele litigasie)
• Liassering van hofstukke en opvolging met balju
• Ondervinding in taksasies en kosterekening
• Koördinering van regspraktyk se kalender, vergaderings en hof datums
• Die opstel en uitwinning van lasbriewe sal baie voordelig wees
• Bestel van kantoorbenodigdhede
• Hantering van koerier reëlings en aflewerings
• Algemene ondersteuning aan prokureurs en kandidaatprokureurs
• Bestuur en liassering van fisiese en digitale lêers
• Koördinering van hof datums, vergaderings en skedules
• Kommunikasie en opvolg met howe, balies en kliënte
• Algemene kantooradministrasie en koerier reëlings
• Opstel van kosterekening en, waar nodig, taksasie rekeninge
• Handhawing van vertroulikheid en professionele diskresie
• Effektiewe prioritisering van take
• Werk in ’n klein firma-omgewing met ’n groot werksvolume en hoëprofiel-sake
• Vermoë om onafhanklik en selfstandig te funksioneer sonder konstante toesig
• Hantering van streng sperdatums en wisselende prioriteite in ’n dinamiese regsomgewing

Pos Vereistes :
• Matrieksertifikaat
• Bestuurslisensie en voertuig
• Minimum 5 jaar ondervinding as regs sekretaresse of ontvangsdame in regsomgewing
• Uitstekende rekenaarvaardighede (MS Office; ervaring met GhostPractice is ‘n voordeel)
