Description:
We’re currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing transport and mining business that specialises in the delivery of sand and aggregates. Their operations include a fully functional sand mine, and they are seeking a strong, hands-on Assistant General Manager to support the General Manager in running the day-to-day operations across transport, mining, and workshop divisions.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a solid background in mining logistics or bulk materials transport, who thrives under pressure, is tech-savvy, and has a proactive, solution-driven approach.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the GM with overall operational management (transport, mine, and workshop).
Monitor fleet logistics, maintenance planning, and dispatch coordination.
Supervise staff and enforce operational efficiency and compliance.
Assist in mine production tracking, quality control, and HSE compliance.
Prepare operational reports and communicate key metrics to leadership.
Be available to respond to urgent operational needs – flexibility with working hours is essential.
Minimum Requirements:
Matric
5+ years’ experience in a supervisory/management role in transport, mining or logistics.
Excellent leadership and organisational skills.
Strong computer literacy (Excel proficiency is essential).
Excellent communication and reporting skills.
High attention to detail with the ability to multitask effectively.
Presentable, professional, and in good health.
Valid driver’s licence.
