Responsibilities

Process supplier and customer invoices, credit notes, statements, and payments
-
Perform bank, supplier, and account reconciliations
-
Maintain and update the fixed asset register, including tagging and verification
-
Post routine journal entries and ensure alignment with supporting documentation
-
File and archive all financial records according to company policy
-
Assist with VAT, PAYE, and income tax return submissions for relevant entities
-
Prepare daily bank and cash reports and coordinate payment schedules
-
Support the preparation of cash flow forecasts and management reports
-
Assist with intercompany schedules and confirmations
-
Participate in audit preparation by providing required schedules and documentation
-
Attend meetings and apply relevant accounting policies and practices
-
Support ad hoc finance projects and collaborate with the team as needed
Requirements
-
Grade 12 with Accounting
-
Certificate or Diploma in Bookkeeping or Accounting (or equivalent)
-
5 to 7 years of relevant bookkeeping/accounting experience
-
Minimum 2 years in a senior bookkeeping role (Bookkeeper II or similar)
-
Must work currently in an insurance company or large wealth management environment
-
Solid knowledge of accounting principles
-
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
-
Proficient in Sage X3, Excel, Outlook, and Word
-
Strong organizational and time-management skills
-
Analytical thinker with problem-solving ability
-
Effective communicator
-
Able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
-
Reliable, methodical, and quality-driven
-
Strong team player and quick learner
-
Willing to work overtime when needed
