KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Revenue and Billing

  • Process monthly billing for bulk water, electricity, sewer, rentals, and other related services.
  • Generate, review, and distribute invoices and debtor statements within required time frames.
  • Open and update customer accounts accurately on Sage Accounting (Accpac).
  • Allocate customer receipts/payments and ensure proper posting to relevant accounts.

Debtors and Customer Account Management

  • Maintain accurate debtor records and assist in resolving customer queries promptly.
  • Prepare and update staff deduction schedules and process payroll recoveries as required.
  • Support debtor collections in line with entity credit control procedures.

Cash and Inventory Handling

  • Manage petty cash transactions and perform reconciliations with supporting documentation.
  • Process and reconcile fleet card transactions for the Namakwa region.
  • Conduct stock counts, inventory allocation, and control activities.

Compliance and Reporting

  • Adhere to internal financial procedures, monthly deadlines, and audit requirements.
  • Assist with preparation of schedules and documentation for internal and external audit purposes.
  • Perform additional assignments as delegated by supervisor.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • National Diploma in Accounting, Financial Management, or related field (NQF Level 6).
  • 2–3 years' experience in a debtors, billing, or general financial administration role.
  • Proficient in Sage Accounting / Accpac.
  • Microsoft Excel (data entry, reconciliations, basic formulas).
  • Working knowledge of Petty cash management and Fleet card reconciliation.
  • Responsible for inventory control and stock administration.
  • Strong numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage workload under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • High integrity and confidentiality.
  • Professional and customer focused.
  • Team player with initiative.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic work environment.
