Description:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Calculate of monthly chemical costs and maintaining of appropriate chemical stock
  • Attend Regional Stakeholder
  • Prepare annual budget in terms of agreed templates, criteria and
  • Ensure Optimization chemical
  • Assist with Planning and arranging of annual cleaning of
  • Ensure regular cleaning and maintenance of treatment process
  • Assist with pipeline failures as and when
  • Report minor maintenance work on reservoirs, plant and pump
  • Ensure that meter readings are done at the required time, data captured and approved on
  • Ensure that meter readings are captured and approved on
  • Ensure that bacteriological, chemical and physical samples are taken weekly, delivered to service providers and attending to feedback/report
  • Verification of bulk billing
  • To pro-actively plan plant operation for 24 hours in
  • Maintain payroll
  • Coordinating and approval of
  • Overseeing disciplinary
  • Performance assessments for Senior Process Controllers and Lab
  • Overtime, shifts and standby planned and managed
  • Develop and Maintain Standard Operation Procedures.
  • Compile Operational report to Regional
  • Compile Chemical usage, pump readings, lab-averages of tests
  • Monthly and quarterly reporting to Bloemfontein Office and DWS
  • Conduct inspections on operations and submit production reports.
  • Compile Monthly Meter Master Plan.
  • Conduct investigation on water quality failures and implement remedial measures.
  • Maintain incident registers as per the incident management protocols.
  • Conduct Blue Drop assessment.
  • Adhere to H & S standards in all plants and pump stations (Operations matters).
  • All assignments as directed from time to

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree in Water Care/Chemical Engineering/Equivalent.
  • Seven to Ten (7-10) experience in Water Treatment Plants
  • Class VI Classification with DWS
  • Computer Proficiency (MS Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, );
  • Computerized Maintenance Management System (Optional).
  • Valid Drivers'
  • Technical Report
  • Leadership skills
  • Budgeting skills
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Registered as a Professional Process Controller/natural scientist will be an added advantage.
