Description:
· Our drill rig operator will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of drilling equipment (THOR 5000 and a variety of rods, hammers and tools), for resource extraction.
· This includes setting up, operating, and maintaining the rig, monitoring its performance, and adhering to strict safety protocols. The candidate must be able to work with a team to ensure precise drilling according to project specifications and may also be involved in equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
· Supervising the drill rig crew.
· Basic experience of hydraulic systems and diesel machinery.
· Must have excellent problem-solving capabilities when faced with different geological formations.
· Operating the drill rig: (DTH)
This involves controlling the rig's movements, adjusting settings, and ensuring the drilling process is executed safely and efficiently.
· Setting up the rig:
This includes positioning the rig, stabilizing it, and preparing it for drilling operations.
Apply correct instructions to ensure the equipment are not abused or misused.
· Maintaining the rig:
This involves regular inspections, cleaning, and minor repairs to ensure the equipment is in good working order.
· Monitoring drilling operations:
This includes watching gauges, adjusting settings, and making sure the drilling process is progressing as planned.
· Adhering to safety protocols:
This is a critical aspect of the job, and operators must be aware of and follow all safety regulations and procedures to prevent accidents.
· Working with a team:
Drill rig operators often work with other crew members, including drillers, assistants, and engineers, and must be able to communicate effectively and collaborate to complete projects.
· Troubleshooting:
Operators may need to diagnose and fix minor mechanical problems with the rig.
· Working in various conditions:
Drill rig operators may need to work in different locations and weather conditions, depending on the project.

Training and supervising junior operators:
Some operators may be responsible for training and mentoring new or less experienced personnel.
Installation of casings
Ensure the borehole is drilled vertically in a straight line to ensure the instalment of the casing are done properly.
Additional skills
Operator must be able to operate a welding machine to connect the casings DTH.
Operator must be able to make calculations in order to ensure casing are installed to the correct depth.
Operator should be able to identify rock formations.
Operating of GPS
Recording of water levels, building up a database for each hydrological water compartment.
