Key Duties and Responsibilities:Operational Support:Oversee all back of house departments, including:Housekeeping (laundry, linen stores)Stores & stock control (food, beverage, linen, cleaning supplies)Maintenance coordination (with Maintenance Manager)Staff canteen, rooms, and welfare areasEnsure cleanliness, hygiene, and organization of all BOH areas.Stock & Inventory:Monitor and control stock levels (cleaning materials, guest supplies, kitchen stores).Conduct regular stock takes, maintain usage records, and minimize wastage.Assist in receiving, checking, and proper storage of deliveries.Admin & Reporting:Maintain BOH checklists, maintenance reports, and cleaning schedules.Compile weekly reports on BOH operations for Lodge Management.Ensure adherence to SOPs and safety protocols.Maintenance Oversight:Identify and report maintenance issues.Ensure regular servicing of laundry machines, geysers, and other back-end equipment.Team Supervision:Supervise BOH staff (housemen, cleaners, laundry, stores).Conduct regular training, team briefings, and performance checks.Enforce standards of discipline, hygiene, and presentation.Guest Support (Indirect):Ensure that all guest-related services from the BOH are efficient and seamless (e.g., laundry turnaround, clean linen, well-stocked minibars).Support the Front of House with timely BOH service delivery. Qualifications and Experience:- Education :
- Matric (Grade 12) essential.
- Diploma or Certificate in Hospitality , Operations , or Lodge Management is advantageous.
- Minimum 2–3 years experience in a back of house or operational role at a luxury lodge or hotel.
- Strong understanding of hospitality logistics , cleaning protocols , and stock control .
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and cleanliness.
- Competent in inventory systems and basic computer skills (Excel, email, Word).
- Basic understanding of sustainability and eco-conscious practices .
- Must be able to live in remote bush environment .
- Valid driver’s license preferred.
- Physically fit and able to handle manual tasks when required.
