Description:
- Supervise load and haul activities in an open pit environment. Responsible for the planning, directing, and coordinating of the operations of staff and coordinate the activities of production and operating worker to ensure that production is achieved as cost-effectively as possible and according to client quality specifications.
- Implement the direction set by the Site Manager.
- Identify tasks as required by the nature of our work Environment.
- Coordinate employee schedules, ensuring adequate coverage.
- Plan and utilize resources to meet production requirements.
- Investigate and examine the pit's safety and declare safe to work.
- Maintain Pit by ensuring regular cleaning and removal of obstacles.
- Responsible for safe operations on Site.
- Coordinating load and haul operations on site.
- Day to day execution of production plan.
- Regular safety, health and environment inspections in your area of responsibility.
- Ongoing pro-active improvement of the dust suppression system.
- General housekeeping.
- Individuals should be familiar with the Operators manual of each machine.
- Practice key control.
- Sign off of all pre-start checklists for operational staff.
- Conduct risk assessments with team members and identify hazards and mitigate by means of control measures.
- Reporting and recording all deviations of plants.
- Elimination and reduction of spillage within plant.
- Reporting and recording on any breakdowns.
- Ongoing Safety Maintenance Management.
- Enforce company policies and procedures.
- Attend client meetings.
- Collating and Capturing shift reports.
- Report on progress of targets to your manager.
- Monitor production to ensure machines are performing on most efficient output.
- Submitting of weekly KPI’s.
- Thorough and effective production records management.
- Management of Utilization and efficiency.

- 3-5 years supervisory/foreman experience.
- Experience in Crushing, Screening and Yellow Fleet.
- Experience on blasting activities will be advantageous.
- A recognised Supervisory / Leadership Programmer Certificate or studying towards one.
- Competent A Certificate.
- HIRA Certificate.
- Fire Fighting Certificate.
- First Aid Certificate.
- MHSA Certificate.
- Legal Liability Certificate.
- ICAM Certificate.
- HR related experience – Leave management; Time and Attendance; IR, etc.
- A working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Computer literate).
- Administrative experience.
- Good communication skills (written and oral).
- Ability to work in a team.
- Problem Solving Skills.
- Self-driven.
- Minimum Grade 12.
