We look forward to welcoming a new Counter Sales to our team.Overview:The Counter Sales Representative is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and sales support at the sales counter of our steel distribution center. this role involves direct interaction with customers, understanding their requirements, and providing them with the necessary products and solutions. the ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the steel industry, excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to sales.Qualifications:Matric1-2 years' experience within the steel / building / construction or welding industryFluent in English and AfrikaansComputer literate -MS Office / Syspro Key Responsibilities:- Customer service Greet customers warmly and assist them in identifying their needs. provide expert advice on steel products, including specifications, uses, and availability
- Product knowledge - maintain up to date knowledge of the company's product range including new arrivals, features, and benefits. Stay informed about industry trends and market developments
- Inventory management - Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the inventory team to ensure timely replenishment of products. Assist in inventory counts and audits as required
- Order Processing - accurately process customer orders and coordinate with the warehouse team for timely fulfilment. follow up on backorders and communicate status updates to customers
- Sales support - assist customers with product selection, provide quotations, and follow up on inquiries. Support the sales team in achieving sales targets and objectives.
- problem resolution - address customer complaints and issues promptly and professionally. Escalate complex problems to the appropriate department of resolution
- Safety and Compliance - adheres to all safety protocols and company policies. Ensure the sales counter area is clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
- Reporting - prepare daily weekly and monthly sales reports as required. Provide insights and feedback on customer preferences and market trends to management.
