Description:
A leading company in the logistics and supply chain industry is seeking a Buyer I to join its procurement team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with experience in inventory control, procurement administration, and vendor management, particularly in the automotive parts sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and update inventory and asset records accurately.
Process and capture purchase orders on the internal system.
Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and resolve order queries.
Conduct supplier reviews and identify new sourcing opportunities.
Monitor backorders and provide regular reporting.
Maintain up-to-date BEE scorecards and supplier documentation.
Support finance and store functions with relevant administrative duties.
Track market trends to inform purchasing strategies.
Minimum Requirements:
Matric (Grade 12)
Relevant tertiary qualification in Procurement, Logistics, or related field
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a buying/procurement role
Strong knowledge of automotive parts procurement
Proficient in MS Excel and Outlook
Highly organized with a keen eye for detail
Strong team player with excellent communication skills
Able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
