Cold Store Manager

My client Bellville, Cape Town is looking for a proactive and experienced Cold Store Manager to lead and streamline its cold storage operations. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, brings strong leadership capabilities, and has a deep understanding of warehouse systems and cold chain logistics.
Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily Cold Store operations, including opening and closing procedures
• Manage all logistic activities including planning, receiving, dispatch, and inventory control
• Ensure ongoing maintenance and monitoring of freezer room temperatures
• Operate and maintain Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
• Ensure compliance with customs procedures for imports and exports
• Supervise staff rosters, timekeeping, and enforce disciplinary procedures when necessary
• Uphold strict adherence to food safety standards and HACCP requirements
• Maintain accurate records: GRVs, receiving books, and GIVs
• Liaise between internal departments and external partners
• Communicate logistics and delivery updates with head office
• Address customer queries, handle samples, and oversee the cleanliness of cold storage areas

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric (NQF Level 4) or higher
• 3–5 years' management experience in a manufacturing or warehouse setting / similiar setting
• Cold storage experience is essential
• Medically physically fit
• Strong understanding of WMS and distribution/logistics software
• Knowledge of Food Safety, HACCP , and Occupational Health & Safety
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport
• Ability to manage time effectively and handle high-pressure situations
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
