Description:
The ES Project Engineer is responsible for reviewing and understanding the project requirements and specifications, in order to procure various components and materials for the North American projects. The project engineer is also responsible for planning and managing the schedule and the budgets of the respective projects.
Key Performance Areas:
- Project Engineering
- To ensure that the technical integrity and scope definition is maintained throughout the procurement, and construction activities, by maintaining close co-operation with those functions and advising the Client if corrective action is needed during the lifecycle of a project.
- To control the flow of technical information to and from the Client and suppliers, ensuring quick and effective communication and record keeping on an ongoing basis.
- To drive the filing and transmitting of project engineering documentation in accordance with project and company procedures to align different disciplines on an ongoing basis.
- To ensure that the project scope and quality requirements are clearly defined and agreed, and that change control procedures are adhered to during the lifecycle of a project.
- To maintain direct costs within budget through appropriate technical input and advice to the Client on an ongoing basis.
- To coordinate and facilitate projects in accordance with contract requirements, specifications, quality standards and design criteria in order to ensure that project costs are maintained within budget and that all work is completed according to project schedule.
- Procurement
- B uild and maintain long-term relationships with vendors and service providers, to ensure improved quality of service to meet company objectives on an ongoing basis.
- Ensure vendor/supplier and contractor interfaces are well understood and integrated into the construction and delivery phase of the project, through frequent and regular reviews during project lifecycle.
- Review and approve all vendor and supplier drawings and documentation to ensure materials, equipment and services conform to Client requirements.
- Comply with all company and project cost control guidelines and procedures set out in training, all company policies, emailed instructions, and manager instructions. (This includes purchasing, expense claims etc.)
- Conduct engineering material investigations and trade-off to ensure cost effective solutions to the Client and the Company
- Project Close-out
- To ensure all project deliverables are completed and documentation finalized for project close out and client handover within specified time frames.
- Innovation
- Identify areas of innovation that may lead to increased productivity, automation, reduced costs, time and material wastages and increased profitability.

- Spanish fluency REQUIRED
- Senior certificate / Grade 12
- N. Dip in Engineering
- 5 years Project Engineering experience
- 5 years Estimation and Procurement experience
- 2 years Quality control / material inspection experience
