Description:
Perform detailed calculations related to loan disbursements and repayments, including interest adjustments, early settlement figures, and amortisation schedules
Maintain accurate reconciliation of balance sheet accounts associated with customer transactions
Issue and manage financial documents such as customer invoices and credit memos
Process customer payments and ensure accurate allocation and reconciliation of loan accounts
Distribute account statements and follow up on payments with structured reminders
Prepare and execute debit order instructions
Monitor and address outstanding payments, implementing appropriate follow-up actions
Handle customer finance-related queries in a timely and solution-focused manner
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including legal teams, to manage non-performing accounts
Contribute to various finance-related projects and tasks as required
Support core financial operations, including:
Posting journal entries
Preparing and reconciling VAT reports
Conducting account reconciliations
Reconciling intercompany loan balances
Oversee daily and weekly cash flow activities to ensure liquidity and alignment with financial plans
Prepare and reconcile banking transactions, including daily bank reconciliations
Assist with year-end audit processes by compiling supporting documentation and engaging with auditors
Take ownership of miscellaneous finance and admin tasks, contributing to team efficiency and compliance
Skills & Experience:
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in an accounting or bookkeeping position, with a solid understanding of day-to-day financial processes
Working knowledge of loan and lease accounting, including amortisation schedules, early settlements, and Net Present Value (NPV) calculations
Proficient in Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced), with strong data-handling and reconciliation capabilities
Familiarity with cloud-based accounting tools, especially Xero, and experience with platforms such as Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams, and Standard Bank Business Online
Demonstrates a high level of analytical thinking, attention to detail, and precision
Able to manage multiple priorities in a structured and methodical manner
Qualification:
A completed Bachelor of Commerce degree, majoring in accounting, with Finance as a supporting subject (or an equivalent tertiary qualification)
