We are seeking a strategic and hands-on finance director to lead the finance function of a growing technology company focusing on pan-Africa. The successful candidate will oversee all financial strategy, reporting, compliance, and operations aspects. They will be instrumental in supporting growth, ensuring financial discipline, and driving high-quality execution across finance, procurement, logistics, and risk functions.
Key Responsibilities
Risk Management & Compliance Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements including: Taxation Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) Health & Safety regulations Other relevant bodies in South Africa and regions of operation Monitor and implement controls to mitigate financial, legal, and operational risks. Oversee company insurance coverage, audits, and statutory filings. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Lead the development of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans. Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts and board reporting packs. Deliver ad-hoc analysis and scenario modelling to support business decisions. Oversee cost control measures and margin improvement initiatives. Treasury & Working Capital Manage cash flow forecasting, working capital optimization, and banking operations. Oversee debt facilities and trade finance instruments. Monitor FX exposures and hedging strategies where appropriate. Leadership & Team Management Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team across: Accounting Procurement Logistics Warehouse operations Ensure high performance through coaching, clear KPIs, and effective delegation. Support ERP improvements and system integrations. Stakeholder & Investor Relations Serve as the primary liaison for: External auditors Bankers Investors and shareholders Prepare investor reports and participate in fundraising activities when required. Support governance and board-level reporting. Qualifications & Experience
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Chartered Accountant (CA) designation required. Masters degree (e.g., MBA) preferred. Minimum of 10 years' progressive experience in finance roles, with at least 5 years at a senior management level. Proven experience in managing compliance and regulatory frameworks in South Africa.
