Project Engineer
, to join their expanding team. This role is ideal for a technically minded professional with a strong electromechanical background, a hands-on approach to electrical design and commissioning, and a commitment to delivering exceptional project outcomes. The position includes both UK and international travel, offering diverse and dynamic project exposure.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan, design, and construct engineering projects of various scales.
• Create and update electrical schematics using AutoCAD LT.
• Support the Engineering Team throughout project lifecycles with technical expertise.
• Offer technical support and phone-based breakdown cover during project handovers.
• Liaise professionally with customers and contractors, representing our client with integrity.
• Ensure all documentation—method statements, risk assessments, checklists, drawings—is completed accurately and on time.
• Use company tools to track time spent on-site and on tasks.
• Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations and escalate any deviations.
• Mentor and support the development of less experienced engineering team members.
• Research emerging engineering technologies to enhance efficiency and project outcomes.
• Ensure all work meets company quality and compliance standards.
• Escalate issues that may impact project deadlines.
Working Hours
• Full-time position.
• Remote role for a candidate based in South Africa, ideally Bloemfontein.
Requirements:
Requirements: Education, Experience & Skills• Minimum City & Guilds 18th Edition qualification in electrical competency.
• Industrial electrical and maintenance experience.
• Electrical design and commissioning background.
• Hands-on experience with Siemens, Allen Bradley, and/or Mitsubishi PLC/SCADA systems.
• Proficient in reading electrical schematics and interpreting digital process trends.
• Skilled in working with VSDs and Softstarts.
• Experience in instrumentation setup and calibration.
• Proficiency with Office 365 or Google Workspace.
• Excellent fault diagnosis and problem-solving abilities with an electromechanical focus.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, and regulations.
• Strong organisational, communication, and customer service skills.
• Effective time management and attention to detail.
