Senior Air Import Controller

Description:

Quotations / Estimates - Full function

Request rates from multiple agents.
Compare and provide quotations / estimates based on sound knowledge of market.


Forwarding – Complete function including:

Comprehensive and complete understanding of pricing both in terms of freight rates and origin charges
Liaising with both clients and agents in efficient, professional manner
Track shipments online / telephonically
Able to work early /after hours / weekends where necessary
Able to draw cargo from airline if needed.
Registering files on system, tracking shipments on an international and local level, submitting Pre-framed customs entries for clearance, updating customers.
Delivery – Co-ordinating multiple deliveries with transporters.
Billing / Invoicing – Understands concept (revenue / disbursement) and is able to apply same.
Queries – Is able to resolve queries timeously.

Requirements:

Required experience + 8 years experience in International Freight forwarding.

Other skills

Excellent communication skills – Both telephonically and in writing.
Experienced & knowledgeable in handling DGR, high-valued and temperature-controlled cargo.
Experience in other logistical fields (exports / sea freight, etc) an advantage
Knowledge on Shipshape an advantage
Is able to work under pressure
Able to work in team environment as well as independently.
