We have a client with an amazing opportunity based in Gauteng
Role: C&I Engineer
Industry: Renewable Energy / Electrical Engineering
Level: Senior Engineering Professional (8-10 years experience)
Key Requirements:
- Relevant degree/diploma in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 8-10 years of proven experience in control and instrumentation engineering within renewable energy projects and power generation facilities
- Extensive track record of successfully delivering large-scale C&I projects in solar, wind, or other renewable energy installations
- Advanced proficiency in control system design and programming including PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems
- Strong expertise in instrumentation selection, installation, calibration, and maintenance protocols
- Comprehensive knowledge of industry standards including ISA, IEC, and IEEE compliance requirements
- Demonstrated project management capabilities with ability to oversee multiple concurrent projects
- Experience in developing P&IDs, control philosophies, and system architectures
- Proven ability to conduct commissioning, troubleshooting, and system optimization
Personal Attributes:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams, project managers, and plant operations personnel
- Leadership qualities with ability to provide technical mentorship and training to operations and maintenance staff
- Safety-conscious approach with commitment to health, safety, and environmental compliance
- Proactive and results-driven professional who can work independently while managing multiple project deliverables
- Adaptable team player comfortable working in dynamic renewable energy environments and remote project locations
- Strong organizational skills with ability to develop and implement preventive maintenance programs and optimization strategies for renewable energy systems
