Role: Civil Engineering Designer - Municipal Infrastructure
Industry: Engineering Consulting & Municipal Services
Level: Mid-Level (3+ years experience)
Key Requirements:
- B Sc / BEng or B Eng Tech in Civil Engineering
- Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience in Land Infrastructure project design
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D for civil services and earthworks design
- Strong knowledge of engineering codes, standards, and practices (specifically SANS 1200)
- Experience in municipal infrastructure design including roads, stormwater, water, sewer, telecoms, and bulk earthworks
- Ability to prepare project specifications, BoQs, cost estimates, and tender documentation
- Construction supervision experience preferred
- Capability to work independently and lead project designs while supporting Project Leaders
Personal Attributes:
- Confident and well-spoken with excellent communication skills across all organizational levels
- Highly disciplined with exceptional attention to detail
- Deadline and delivery-focused with proven time management abilities
- Excellent organizational skills with strong planning and implementation capabilities
