Minimum requirements for the role:A BCom degree in accounting or finance, or a related qualification is essential for this role. Previous experience having worked in a Financial Accountant role is essential. The successful candidate must have a strong knowledge of South African tax legislation as well as VAT etc. Must be proficient in accounting software (Sage or similar) with advanced Excel skills. Must have excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Must have strong attention to detail and accuracy. Must have effective communication and interpersonal skills. Previous experience having worked within the chemical or supply chain or logistics or related manufacturing or distribution industries is preferred. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Reporting to the FD you will be overseeing the financial accounting, reporting, compliance, and internal controls of the company. Ensuring accurate financial reporting and statutory compliance, while supporting decision-making processes with insightful financial analysis. Preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Managing general ledger accounts and ensure accurate month-end closures. Processing accounts payable and receivable as well as conducting variance analysis. Ensuring compliance with local accounting standards and assisting with budget preparation and forecasting. Supporting internal and external audit processes as well as preparing management reports and financial analysis. Assisting in preparing annual budgets, forecasts, and financial models for strategic planning. Collaborating with cross-functional teams including procurement, production, supply chain, and sales within the company. Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
