Description:
RPO Recruitment is actively seeking a skilled Millwright to join our client’s team, a leading raw material manufacturing company based in Durban. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on professional to play a vital role in the maintenance, installation, and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment within a high-paced industrial environment. Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production machinery and equipment
- Diagnose faults on PLC and SCADA systems
- Attend to mechanical and electrical breakdowns swiftly to minimize downtime
- Execute installations and commissioning of new equipment
- Carry out welding, cutting, machining, and fabrication as needed
- Assist with the integration of PC and network systems into production equipment
- Ensure compliance with OHSACT and internal safety protocols
- Document all work carried out and ensure maintenance logs are up to date
Qualifications
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Certified Artisan (Trade Tested Millwright)
- Minimum of 5 years’ post-apprenticeship experience in both electrical and mechanical engineering
- At least 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- Solid understanding of engineering principles: hydraulics, pneumatics, and robotics
- Skilled in stick welding, machining, and fabrication
- Strong knowledge of PLC fault diagnosis and SCADA systems
- Familiar with PC and network integration
- Working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSACT)
