Position: Retail Field Sales ManagerLocation: Johannesburg, Gauteng
Industry: Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG)
Salary: Up to R30,000 CTC per month
An exciting opportunity exists for a dynamic and assertive Retail Field Sales Manager to join a fast-paced FMCG environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing in-store sales and merchandising teams, ensuring execution excellence at both store and distribution center levels, and driving sales growth across key retail locations.
Responsibilites:
- Lead and manage in-store sales and merchandising teams.
- Oversee in-store and DC-level operations related to promotions.
- Monitor and maintain optimal stock levels and ensure timely replenishments.
- Manage return rates and ensure product shelf quality.
- Ensure adherence to the 10 Shelf Health elements in-store.
- Oversee proper placement and rotation of stock (First-In, First-Out).
- Ensure pricing and promotional point-of-sale materials are correctly displayed.
- Maintain accurate and visible Price Indicator Labels.
- Monitor planogram execution and flow compliance.
- Identify and drive sales opportunities (e.g., secondary placements, end gondolas).
- Work towards enhancing brand visibility and increasing forward share.
Requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12) is essential.
- 1–2 years’ experience in the FMCG sector.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage field teams.
- Assertive and results-driven personality.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle.
- Strong numeracy and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
