Description:
The Harness Builder is responsible for the accurate assembly, modification, and installation of custom electrical wiring harnesses used in automotive and mining equipment. The role ensures high standards of quality, safety, and compliance with technical specifications to support reliable vehicle and equipment performance in demanding environments.

Read and interpret technical drawings, wiring schematics, and work orders.

Assemble electrical wiring harnesses according to provided specifications and standards.

Measure, cut, strip, crimp, and solder wires to build harnesses for a range of automotive and mining equipment.

Route and secure harnesses using cable ties, clamps, grommets, and protective sleeves.

Inspect completed harnesses for continuity, insulation, and compliance using multimeters or continuity testers.

Modify existing harnesses as per engineering change requests or customer specifications.

Maintain a clean and organized workstation, ensuring tools and equipment are in good working order.

Follow all health, safety, and quality standards in line with company and industry requirements.

Record and report any defects, non-conformances, or material shortages to the supervisor.

- Building Electrical Harnesses : 4 to 5 years
- Electrical Harnessing : 4 to 5 years

- Grade 12 / Matric Certificate.
- NQF Level 2–4 or Technical Certificate in Auto Electrical, Electrical Engineering, or similar (advantageous).
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in harness building or auto-electrical assembly, preferably in the mining or automotive sectors.
- Familiarity with mining vehicle electrical systems and industrial wiring components.
