My client, a well-established food manufacturer based in Stikland, is seeking to employ a Junior Distribution Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing the distribution of their products in an efficient and cost-effective manner, while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities :- Staff management 60 staff (Drivers, van assistants, planning, debriefing, cash-up and monitoring)
- Assets management (fleet and equipment management including repair and maintenance management and insurance claims management)
- Stock management (final check of all dispatched stock)
- Human Resources Management (Own and TES staffing, time sheets and disciplinary)
- Planning and scheduling of resources, optimize resources and managing distribution percentage
- Deadline driven
- Develop and implement distribution strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products to customers
- Manage and optimize distribution network to maximize efficiency and reduce costs
- Manage all distribution running costs i.e. fuel analysis, scheduling of staff, expense controls in line with company purchase order management system
- Fine and Acknowledgement of debt management
- Staff transport and log book management
- Route tracking, reporting and monitoring of all assets
- Route, staff and vehicle performance
- Weekend planning, scheduling and execution of deliveries
- AM Despatch controls to ensure timeous dispatching of all routes, vehicles and scheduled staff
- Monitor and analyse distribution data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions
- Coordinate with sales, production, warehouse and logistics teams to ensure alignment and smooth operations
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and quality standards in distribution processes
- Train and mentor distribution team members to enhance their skills and performance
- Minimum of matric, Tertiary qualification in Logistics or related field will be advantageous.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in distribution management, preferably in the multi-temperature food distribution
- Advanced MS Office (Excel and Word)
- Clear criminal record
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful distribution strategies
- Strong administration, analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
- Ability to lead and motivate a team
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing distribution operations
- Code 10/14 will be advantageous
