C&I Technician

Description:

A C&I / Automation technician is required in the steel and industrial manufacturing sector in Johannesburg East. Key responsibilities will include PLC Programming, automation, and instrumentation systems.  Will also be responsible for doing Level 2 and Level 3 Industrial MES. Diploma in Electronics or Instrumentation Engineering with managerial experience in the Automation / MIS. PLC/DCS Programming, Networking, SQL, and VB programming, and be able to work on Power BI. Specialist Automation Technician/ PLC Specialist/ MIS Technician

Qualification:

• National Diploma in electronic or Instrumentation Engineering
• Electronic/Instrumentation technician Trade test is beneficial.
• Managerial experience in the Automation / MIS field

• Process Control Systems and Databases experience
• PLC/DCS Programming
• Networking
• Database knowledge of SQL
• VB programming

Responsibilities:

• PLC Maintenance and programming (Siemens)
• Aveva System Platform maintenance and updates
• SCADA Programming
• Networks: Ethernet, , Profibus, Profinet.
• Managing/ overseeing the Process Control Systems and Databases.
• Programming Visual Basic (VB), ASP.NET
• VB Scripting
• SQL Server (Stored Procedures, Functions, Views
• SSRS
• Be able to work on Power BI
• Maintain and develop intricate and complex systems required by the process control system.
